Rules

The main rules of a Match Fishing League are simple:

  1. Only three members of a team can fish at any one time, one of which to be responsible for managing the boat – this responsibility can be shared
  2. The home team decides the location, target species and any equipment restrictions such as line length, line weight, electronic aids and techniques (e.g. fly fishing)
  3. The match runs for up to five hours.
  4. Generally the team with the most catches of the target species in a legal size wins, though an extra bonus may be provided for the largest fish of the day
  5. The losing team has to clean both boats!
